The conclusion of the HospiBot project was celebrated in the OUH foyer
Yesterday, we had the pleasure of hosting the concluding event for our three-year HospiBot project at Odense University Hospital.
For us at CCR, it was a particularly great way to wrap up the project - not in a traditional conference room, but right in the midst of the hospital’s daily life, at the main entrance of OUH.
We invited anyone who was curious to stop by. Patients, relatives, staff, and visitors could meet the robots, watch live demonstrations, ask questions, and learn more about three years of work on mobile robots for the hospital.
We demonstrated HuGo and the multi-modular solution, where a transport unit can be attached to the mobile base for internal logistics. And sometimes, it is the small reactions that stick with you the most.
One patient stopped to watch how the transport unit was assembled with the mobile base. She thought it was very clever, but emphasised that she particularly liked the fact that the robot "didn't look like a human." It was a small comment, but a nice reminder of why it is so important to meet users where the technology is intended to be used - and to hear their immediate reactions.
The HospiBot Project
HospiBot has involved three years of development, testing, collaboration, and a wealth of learning across Denmark and Germany, and we are proud to have been part of the journey. We look forward to carrying these experiences forward in our work with robotics and innovation in the healthcare sector.
